One Pill Can Kill: A fentanyl Awareness Panel Discussion

February 28, 2022 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm CST

**This event is both in-person & virtual**

Drug-overdose deaths are an epidemic in the U.S., touching virtually every state. About 60% of those deaths in the past year are linked to illicitly manufactured or adulterated fentanyl. With the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration seizing nearly 10 million fake pills last year—many were laced with counterfeit fentanyl.

Illicit fentanyl is fueling the nation’s drug overdose epidemic and primarily responsible for the deaths of more than 100,000 people last year alone.

Awareness, education, and hard conversations are vital to helping combat this issue.

Join us for a panel discussion moderated by local investigative news reporter Arezow Doost Peters, which will include stories of impact from family members, a DEA representative, a mental health expert, and a local law enforcement officer.

For those who cannot attend in-person, please join us virtually at hcbc.com/stream.

Sponsored in part by Hill Country Christian School of Austin. Coverage provided by KXAN.
